What is the Mason Bee life cycle?Updated 3 months ago
Mason Bees begin life as an egg inside of an individual cell in a nest.
Then, they emerge as a larva and begin to eat the pollen stored in the cell so they can grow into an adult bee.
After reaching their maximum size, they enter a dormant pupal stage where they will remain throughout the winter. The larva spins a cocoon to continue maturing.
Once the temperatures start to warm up in the Spring, the bees emerge from their cocoons and exit the nest to start the life cycle all over again.
