What temperatures are best for praying mantises?Updated a year ago

We carry our Praying Mantis egg cases seasonally, from December until mid spring, while supplies last. Mantids do best in temperatures above 50 degrees, and the nymphs will emerge in the spring as temperatures increase.

If your location experiences very cold temperatures, and it would not be safe to release the baby nymphs, we recommend keeping your egg case and habitat in the garage to keep it dormant until spring. If they are kept in a warm house, they may emerge when they cannot be released.

Please note, it takes 3-12 weeks for the baby nymphs to emerge from the egg case.
