When will my butterflies start eating?Updated 8 months ago
The big day is finally here and your beautiful Painted Lady butterflies have finally emerged! But when will they need to start drinking tasty nectar?
When your butterflies first emerge from the chrysalis, their proboscis (the tubular "mouth" they use to feed) is actually split into two halves. The butterfly must take time to slowly fuse the two halves together before they are finally able to eat. that's why it will normally take a few hours for your butterflies to eat any of the tasty snacks you've laid out for them. Don't worry, they will start feeding as soon as they want to!
